Adriana’s Story

“Hello my name is Adriana Villalobos and I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer on February 19, 2016.  When the doctor told me about the cancer I thought I was going to die, I was in complete shock and felt so hopeless, thought I was alone in this atrocious battle. I had a right side lumpectomy and four lymph nodes remove and out of the four the first one was positive for cancer.  I was hoping no chemotherapy for me, but that wasn’t the case. A month later after my surgery I started the grueling process of chemo. I would complete 8 rounds of harsh chemo and 36 days of radiation.

I can honestly say that this has been the hardest thing I’ve had to endure. However, I knew I wasn’t alone in this process. TETWP came to my rescue, I had the honor of meeting Heidi and Cjay who showed up at my job and told me they would help me financially. Tears drop down my eyes as we sat there and talked, I was blessed to have met these wonderful human beings who didn’t even know me and were willing to help me out. This organization offers a lot to this community, and honestly without TETWP Gunnison patients would have to travel even more.

I am forever grateful for all of their support, my road has been a little easier knowing that I wasn’t alone and that TETWP was with me throughout this process. Again thank you all for all you do !!!!!!”
